“After a tumultuous 2020, we wanted to continue helping our community rebuild,” said Jeff Meshey, CEO of Desert Financial. “The $3.8 million in overall donations were split among 80 nonprofit organizations committed to supporting Arizona’s most vulnerable residents, hundreds of teachers and students across the state, loyal members of Desert Financial and deserving individuals living in our community through our Random Acts of Kindness program. .”

In 2021, Desert Financial:

  • Received $1.4 million in community and corporate donations
  • Donation of $137,500 in community grants
  • Performed 8,300 random acts of kindness in which $440,950 was donated to community members
  • Raised $360,000 from employees through the organization’s workplace giving campaign
  • Awarded over 70 scholarships totaling $195,500
  • Raised and donated $60,000 to provide 400 laptops to students in need
  • Provided 10 teachers with a total of $51,610 in school supplies through its annual Adopt-A-Teacher program
  • Hosted 83 teacher appreciation events and distributed over $114,000 in school supplies

Additionally, to support community members who have struggled to rebuild after job or income losses, Desert Financial has conducted financial wellness programs and education workshops. Nearly 2,700 people attended (virtually) one of 60 financial wellness workshops in 2021.
